As a Candidate to become the next General Secretary of Publications in the CME Church, I foresee the Department moving forward with the following principles: Optimize, Maximize, and Modernize.
Optimize - The customer-centered experience by enhancing the e-commerce site for navigation ease for both in person and on-line consumption. The department will also look to expand its footprint by seeking to be a church supply center for the surrounding region beyond the CME Church.
Maximize - Inventory offered in the store and on the road when at connectional meetings for the things that members would want and need for the faith journey and tools for evangelism. To further seek out partnerships to increase the number of scholars who publish with the Department of Publications, including CME authors and others. Also, the Department will explore offering print-on-demand packages to better manage inventory to reduce the upfront overhead investment.
Modernize - Miles Bookstore’s appearance so that the store experience will include coffee stations, listening stations, and a space for book signings or launch parties when new books are coming out.
